Party in a Box

Hilton Head Prep Students, Maya Biles and Alexander B., engaged in the DECA state competition in the Project Management category with a Community Giving Project in 2026. Their innovative project provided The Celebration Projects with dozens of “party in a box” kits designed to supply party supplies in various common themes. Their kits included plates, cups, nakins, party favors, party decorations, and balloons for party themes such as Barbie, Fairies, Mermaids, Spiderman, MindCraft, Trucks, Cars, and dozens more.

Recognized as a tremendous success, Maya Biles and Alexander B. placed in the Top 5 in South Carolina in the category. The judges felt that the project was well thought through and particularly liked the name of it — Party in a Box! The Celebration Projects was honored to be chosen as a beneficiary of their DECA student project and impressed by the creativity and organization.

By involving their peers in the collection for the kits, Maya and Alexander not only gathered supplies but also helped spread awareness about the Celebration Project and its mission. They learned the importance of sharing our non-profits work and how to effectively communicate our purpose.

The project showed Maya and Alexander the value of collaboration, organization, and community involvement. They saw how a simple idea could bring students together, raise awareness, and make a meaningful difference in helping children feel celebrated.

The boxes were presented to The Celebration Projects team in April of 2026 and have fueled party decorations and supplies for months. We are impressed with this duos committment and innovation. Well done, Maya and Alexander. Thank you!
