Meaningful Student Involvment in our Community
(and in our State and Beyond!)
The Celebration Projects is a registered 501c3, non-profit organization serving children in need on Hilton Head and Bluffton, SC. In 2025, we’re expanding across Beaufort County, the state of South Carolina, and the even the United States as we build an empire to give more children the gift of a birthday party. You see, at The Celebration Projects, we believe deeply that all children deserve joy. We believe that joy is a fundamental right, not a privilege, and joy is critical to the mental health of our youth. Since 2020, we witnessed first-hand that something as simple as a birthday party has the power to change the course of a young person’s life.
See how students can be involved and learn how you can join!
We’ve found that the best way to spread joy to children is to have children and students involved in the process. High school and middle school students know what our birthday party recipients REALLY want . From the latest place to host the party to the hottest “must have” gift, their input is valuable and impactful.
Students love to volunteer! A favorite activity is shopping for birthday party presents (on the company credit card, using a budget, of course!) Students are also learning about fundraising, grant writing, budgeting and the business side of a non-profit which are incredible skills for youth to have!
Student Leadership
Youth President, Molly O’Regan
Molly’s involvement with The Celebration Projects began with the organizations inception in 2020 when she was just 11 years old. Today, Molly is leading The Celebration Projects student participation by holding regular volunteer meetings and is responsible for organizing and staffing the student volunteers who help pull off the parties.
Between coordinating the logistics of the party location, chatting in Spanish with the Spanish-speaking families, shopping for presents, ordering a cake, and delivering the presents, Molly is not only a leader but a hands-on volunteer. She is also currently learning about the financial side: understanding budgets, fundraising, and grant writing efforts with our team.
Molly is a junior at Hilton Head Prep who is interested in exploring mental health and hopes to one day earn a medical degree in psychiatry. Molly believes that joy is a fundamental right, not a privilege, and all children deserve to feel happiness. Through her work with The Celebration Projects, she helps bring small joy to dozens of children each year.
